The Digit-al Dozen DOES Neon, Day 5: Sheer Neon Spirals

In China Glaze, Digit-al Dozen, Digit-al Dozen, Elevation Polish by Jacki5 Comments

Good evening, readers! I have my final Neon Week mani with The Digit-al Dozen to share with you tonight. I hope you’ve enjoyed this bright week, I have! Tonight’s mani turned out more sheer than I planned, and therefore it’s not very neon bright, but I still like the outcome. I used an orange stick to spiral from the center outward through neon jellies. I prefer using jelly polishes for any needle marble designs because they don’t dry as quickly and make the technique easier for me. These jellies just weren’t as bright at one coat as I hoped.

The key to needle marbling is that you have to work one nail at a time before moving on. Thicker coats of polish work best so it doesn’t dry too quickly.

  • I began with a generous coat of Elevation Polish LA. A white crelly with shimmer was a nice base for the jellies.
  • Then, I did three generous lines across the nails like you would cut a round pizza (They all crossed in the middle of the nail) with the following jellies: China Glaze Shell-0, China Glaze Are You Jelly?, and China Glaze Keepin’ It Teal.
  • Next, I placed the pointy end of my orange stick in the center of the nail and spiraled it outward, dragging through all of the polish.
  • I top coated with KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

What do you think? I’m not sure they fit in very well with neon week, as these neon jellies aren’t quite neon until you build them up with multiple coats, but I like the design outcome. Thanks a ton for visiting the site this week, have a great weekend. Don’t forget to check out what the other ladies did for their final Neon mani below!
