Good morning, readers! I have swatches of the Essie Fall For Japanese Collection for Fall 2016 to share with you today! Earlier this week, I shared fan nail art using this collection, but today we will get to see each color solo. “Inspired by her time in Tokyo, essie Global Color Designer Rebecca Minkoff has created a collection that reflects the changing fall foliage and the tastes and energy of Tokyo. There is a reason why the fashion-savvy flock to the number one street style destination in the world: Tokyo. Japan’s electric capital boasts taste, flair and an uncanny aptitude for mixing fashion metaphors. Essie’s fall 2016 collection captures the city’s wild street style, eclectic cuisine and riot of autumnal colors. The six shade palette creates a perfect balance between trendsetting color and classic looks.”
Essie Go Go Geisha
Antique blossom pink.
I’m showing two coats below with top coat.
I am really digging this neutral pink, it applied easily and more opaque than I was expecting. The dustiness gives it a more unique tone compared to others in my collection.
Essie Maki Me Happy
Crimson-wrapped berry.
I’m showing three coats below with top coat.
This is a juicy berry and two coats had uneven coverage, so a third was needed.
Essie Now and Zen
Timeless sage gray.
I’m showing two coats below with top coat.
This is a gorgeous gray creme and would be a great base for nail art.
Essie Kimono-Over
Inviting damson plum.
I’m showing two coats below with top coat.
This is showing darker on my skin tone than in the bottle but it’s still a pretty purple.
Essie Udon Know Me
Mysterious stony blue.
I’m showing two coats below with top coat for full coverage.
This is a gorgeous creme that you wouldn’t typically find in a fall collection, but I’m glad it is!
Essie Playing Koi
Flirtatious orange rust.
I’m showing three coats below for full coverage.
Two coats had uneven coverage so a third was needed.
