Good morning, readers! I’m back for Day 2 of Nail Heroes Week with The Digit-al Dozen and today’s post is dedicated to a brand instead of a blogger. While I’ve only had them a short time, I can already tell that my recent order of Mundo de Uñas Stamping Polishes are a huge stamping game changer. The creme colors stamp beautifully and over darker colors—something I’ve never been able to do before without metallic polishes. I’ve asked many times around the “nail network” and MdU polishes are always the most recommended for stamping.

This is my first ever mani using my new MdU polishes and I’ve done a quick stamping gradient using three stamping colors over a darker base.

  • I began with two coats of OPI I Manicure For Beads from the new OPI New Orleans Collection.
  • While that was drying, I painted a barrier layer around my nails with Girly Bits Border Patrol liquid latex for easy cleanup.
  • Once that was dry, I added a small dab of three Mundo de Uñas stamping polishes (Aqua, Lilac, and Mexican Pink) to the edge of the stamping image on UberChic UC 6-01 stamping plate and scraped them across the image a few times, blending the colors a bit for a gradient.
  • Then I used a stamper to pick up the image and press it onto the nail.
  • After stamping onto all of the nails, I used tweezers to remove the Border Patrol and a cleanup brush to get anything I missed.
  • I topped the mani with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

What do you think of this mani? I still can’t get over how vivid the colors are over the darker base. Have you tried any Mundo de Uñas stamping polishes before? Aside from the strong smell while using them, these are absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to see what I come up with for manis using them.

Screen Shot 2016-02-16 at 8.02.02 AMThey ship from Mexico, so it was about 3 1/2 weeks from order to delivery at my home in Florida. The prices were great, too: I was able to get a ton of different colors to try in mini bottles(5ml) for $1.65 each and regular sized(14 ml) white and black polishes for $3.50. Even with shipping internationally, I was able to get a lot more than if I’d gone with another brand of stamping polish.

If you are sensitive to smells, I wouldn’t recommend these. Also, do not use them on bare nails, only over a regular polish layer. They are to be used for stamping only and not as a full nail color. You only need a small amount on the stamping plate to use, so I anticipate that these mini bottles will last a good amount of time.

Oh, I love your mani! I have all the necessary elements for stamping, including the MdU polish but I just can’t get into stamping. However, manis like your encourage me to do so.
