Good morning! I have an easy holiday themed manicure to share with you this morning. After swatching the 4 new-to-me Madam Glam Soak Off Gels from Swatch Saturday, I thought the red and gold would pair nicely together. Have you tried nail art with gel polish before? This is only my second time but it worked very well! I started with a cured base and then I did the art one nail at a time, curing before moving onto the next nail. Gel polish won’t ever dry without a UV lamp, so if you did the art to your whole mani before curing, the art can spread out and move around a bit. Even flash curing for a small amount of time will help set the gel art as you add more details.
- I began with three cured coats of Madam Glam True Fire Brick Red.
- Then, I dabbed some of the Madam Glam It’s Not You, It’s Me onto my work surface. It won’t dry sitting there so you have a bit more time to use it than regular polish! I started with the polka dot nails, using a small dotting tool dipped into the gold and dotting over one nail.
- I cured that nail and then repeated the process on the other dot nail.
- For the gift wrap nails, I used a striper brush and criss crossed two lines at the center of the nail. Next, I added a loop on the two top sections and the straight ribbon tails down into the bottom sections. I cured that nail and then repeated with the other gift wrap nail.
- Once all of the nail art nails were cured, I added a coat of the Madam Glam Top Coat and cured completely.
What do you think? You could also just combine True Fire Brick Red with an accent nail of It’s Not You, It’s Me for a simpler holiday glam manicure! The best part? Gel polish will last a couple of weeks.
