Good morning, readers! Have you tried any of the KBShimmer Water Slide Decals yet? I’ve shown you two looks before (with a step by step) and I’m excited to share my newest decals with you. The Autumn Leaves Water Slide Decals are so perfect for the season and I’m wishing I’d had them for Autumn Week last week with The Digit-al Dozen! These are different from the previous two designs I used because they are a design and color base in one. The others I used were clear based and I chose my own base color or design. For these, I only needed a white base and the rest of the hard work was left to the decals!

This is what the sheet looks like, so you can see that the colored gradient really is on the decal already!KBShimmer Autumn Leaves Water Slide Decals 3

Below is an “action shot” in the middle of application:

  • I started out with a mostly full coverage coat of Rica White Out and let it dry.
  • Then, I cut out the nail shaped water slide decals and one at a time soaked them in a bowl of water for about 10 seconds.
  • The backing slides off of the decal and I was able to place it where I wanted on my nail.
  • As you can see below, I could have gotten two nails out of each one with my shorties but I didn’t want to change the gradient order and used them on single nails instead.
  • You can also see that the decal overlaps onto the side of my nails. I was able to use a cleanup brush and acetone to carefully wipe away anything left on my skin or over the edge of the nail.
  • You have to be careful while applying, I had some fold onto themselves before I had them positioned correctly and it wasn’t very easy to unfold without damaging the thin decal.
  • One more note: wait a while for the decals to dry out after you clean up the excess before adding top coat. It can wipe the decal design away.
  • I used two coats of KBShimmer Clearly On Top to seal in the decals and add shine.

What do you think of this water slide decal design? I’d love to hear your thoughts below! They take a little bit of practice to get the hang of but they are perfect for when you want a fun design without the nail art skills to do it yourself. You can always just do a couple of accent nails paired with matching polish if you don’t want to use the whole sheet at once.

You can find these available on the KBShimmer site HERE for $2.95 a sheet, along with a ton of other designs! I have more to show you over the next couple of weeks so keep an eye out for those!
