Good afternoon, readers! I hope you are enjoying Re-creation Week with The Digit-al Dozen as much as I am! The ladies have re-created some amazing manis and I’m having a ton of fun looking to see which I will re-create next! Today’s post was originally done by one of my closest nail friends, Ashley is PolishAddicted. This was actually her very first Digit-al Dozen manicure and I was enthralled with it. I’m not sure why I’ve never tried a stained glass manicure before, because I love how this turned out. Ashley was inspired by the Beauty and the Beast stained glass rose image, check out her post here for more info: The Digit-al Dozen Does Fairytales, Day One: Beauty and the Beast. I didn’t have all of the same polishes to re-create this mani, but I used the closest I had. Let’s take a look!

Stained Glass Nail Art 1-001

  • After a coat of base coat, I used black acrylic paint to sketch the outlines with my Pure Color No. 10 detail brush.
  • Next, I grabbed the following colors and filled in the design as best as I could to match Ashley’s: OPI In My Santa Suit, Girly Bits BamBoom!, Sweet Heart Polish Hot August Nights, Literary Lacquers Phoenix In Her Blood, KBShimmers Men Are From Mars-ala, What Are You Wading For?, Blue-d Lines, & Ins and Sprouts, and the following Elevation Polishes: I Got the Axe, Darkest Night, Bohai Sea, Sunset Among the Palms, Ortler, Bromeliad, and Haleakala.
  • After filling in all of the negative nail space, I let the polishes dry and then went back over my black lines with acrylic paint again.
  • 2 coats of KBShimmer Clearly on Top were used to seal the design and even out the sections.

What do you think? I really love the outcome and plan to try more stained glass manis in the future! Come back tomorrow for my final Re-creation Week mani and don’t forget to see what the other ladies did for today below.
