The Digit-al Dozen DOES Re-creation, Day 5: Vintage Roses.

Good afternoon, readers! I have the final mani for Re-creation Week with The Digit-al Dozen to share with you today. I had such a hard time narrowing down which manis to re-create for this week, I have a feeling I’ll continue to do this every so often to show support for my fellow DD members. 5 days isn’t nearly long enough to celebrate my ladies. This mani was inspired by the lovely Vic at Glowstars! She is typically the Queen of Bling but she also has great freehand nail art skills! I couldn’t even attempt most of her freehand designs but this vintage rose mani from Vintage Week caught my eye and it seemed easy enough to copy. I’ve only done a small number of rose manis and I love the vintage look with the stripes and this color scheme. Check out Vic’s gorgeous original mani here: The Digit-al Dozen Does Vintage: Roses.

  • My base is two coats of Girly Bits Dreaming Tree. This gorgeous turquoise crelly was hard to photograph and I did adjust my photos a bit–they aren’t 100% accurate though.
  • Once that was dry, I painted vertical stripes to the middle of the nails with Salon Perfect White Out nail art striper.
  • OPI Girls Love Ponies is the main rose color, I did messy circles covering the top of the vertical lines.
  • I used a nail art brush to do the curved lines in the roses with OPI Kiss Me I’m Brazilian and OPI Mod About You.
  • OPI Amazon…Amazoff is the color of the little leaves.
  • Everything was topped with one coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

What do you think? I need more practice with the roses, but I do love the color combo here that Vic did! I hope you enjoyed this special Re-creation Week with The Digit-al Dozen! Check out the rest of the final manis below.
