Purchased by me

Good afternoon, readers! I have a special polish to share with you today, plus adorable matching nail art.  Elevation Polish Yeti’s Healing Vibes was created after the recent devastating Nepal earthquakes. In an effort to help, Lulu donates a portion of the proceeds to the American Himalayan Foundation. $5 of each purchased polish goes straight to the AHF. You can read more info in Lulu’s Blogposts here and here. Also, Lulu has teamed up with First Sunday and now has adorable little plush yetis in the shop! I chose to recreate the Big Brother Toothy Yeti on my nails as an accent to this special polish. Let’s take a closer look at this polish and the two versions of the Yeti I created!

Jade crelly with a blend of  ultra chrome flakes in 2 colors, gunmetal flake shimmer, white/silver flake shimmer, and aqua micro shimmer.
This applied easily and I’m showing two coats with top coat below. There is a lot going on in this polish but it’s a stunner! No issues to report.Elevation Polish Yeti's Healing Vibes 2

When I first decided to recreate the Big Brother Toothy Yeti, I tried out the entire body shape on my accent nail. Here’s how I did it:

  • After the two coats of Yeti’s Healing Vibes dried, I used a nail art brush and OPI Alpine Snow to paint the outline of the yeti body and filled it in.
  • Next, I grabbed Elevation Polish Yeti Hugs: Feel So Close and painted a thin coat over all of the white. It seemed fitting to make the yeti out of a yeti polish!
  • I used the nail art brush and Zoya Talia to do the two teal circular shapes for the face and tummy.
  • Once dry, I covered the teal with a thin coat of Elevation Polish The Twinkle in Yeti’s Eye. Again, excited to be able to incorporate more Yeti polishes in this art!
  • OPI Good Greif! and the nail art brush were used for the little horns on the head.
  • Elevation Polish NYC was used for the mouth and eyes.
  • The teeth were OPI Alpine Snow.
  • One coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top was used as top coat on the entire mani.Elevation Polish Yeti's Healing Vibes 1

After the full-body Yeti nail art was done, I realized I could simplify Big Brother Toothy Yeti and do a tutorial for the next Tutorial Tuesday post! Here is a simpler version, head only, but just as cute! I followed the same steps and colors as above for this guy, but I didn’t need to use the nail art brush for the big head shapes–just the bottle brush.Elevation Polish Yeti's Healing Vibes 4 Elevation Polish Yeti's Healing Vibes 3

Of course we needed a macro of this gorgeous polish!
