Good morning, readers! Spring has begun and the spring nail collections keep rolling in! Today, I have swatches of the newest SoftShades by OPI. This year, the OPI SoftShades Pastels Collection brings more pastel colors than the previous “bridal” type collections we’ve seen in the past. They are all pastel cremes and I can’t wait to pair them together in nail art soon. Let’s take a look!
OPI It’s in the Cloud
I’m storing this creamy white in memory forever.
I’m showing three thin coats below with top coat.
This is softer than Alpine Snow’s starkness and I love that about it. I do still have some lighter patches after three coats, but I expect this to thicken up like my other OPI whites and it will be easier to have full coverage as time goes on. It would be fine if you weren’t seeing such close up pictures.
OPI Stop I’m Blushing!
A flattering flush of warm, baby peach.
I’m showing three coats below with top coat.
There are still a few lighter patches with this as well, but not as much as the white.
OPI One Chic Chick
Just take a *peep* at this downy soft yellow.
I’m showing three coats below with top coat.
Again, I do have some lighter patches after three coats but not terribly noticeable without close up photos.
OPI This Cost Me a Mint
This cool, refreshing, pale green is so worth it.
I’m showing three coats below with top coat.
This was mostly full coverage without as many lighter patches compared to the others above.
OPI It’s a Boy!
This baby blue is a true bundle of joy!
I’m showing three coats below with top coat.
As with the green, the coverage was almost completely opaque with very minimal lighter patches.
The name is so cute, I wish I had a friend expecting a baby boy just so I could set her a bottle.
OPI I Am What I Amethyst
Honestly, this light pale lilac is really me.
I’m showing three coats below with top coat.
There are minimal lighter patches at three coats.
What are your thoughts on this collection? I was expecting soft, thinner formulas because it IS a SoftShades Collection, after all. And that’s what we got. I’m a little disappointed that there were lighter patches with three coats on pretty much all of them, but I know I’ll use them in nail art and they will thicken up over time for easier coverage in the future. Each would be perfect as base for nail art, or even with a coat of glitter to hide any patchiness. I am really glad to see more color in this year’s SoftShades!

Your swatches are just lovely! I’m thinking of what I’d like to get and for now I’d definitely go for the baby blue and peach. Pastels aren’t easy formulas but I like them anyway 😉

These look so gorgeous on you! I’m obsessed with It’s In The Cloud!
