Good afternoon, readers! Alter Ego Body Care Products has a new collection and I’ve been playing around with it. The Be A Pirate Collection consists of 5 fun colors and I couldn’t resist a pirate themed nail art mani using most of the colors. I’ll have my full swatch post up on these for the weekend, but let’s take a look at the nail art today.
Alter Ego Be A Pirate Collection Nail Art 1

  • My index and pinky nails first were painted with a base coat of Rica Whiteout. Once those were dry, I randomly swiped the following Alter Ego colors over the nails for a fun base: Beach Comber, Royal Prisoner of Love, She’s Got the Booty, and Rocks the Plank.
  • My index nail was then stamped with the pirate flag image from the Cheeky CH49 stamping plate using Rica Blackout. My Girly Bits Transparent Stamper made it easy to stamp the single flags a few times on the nail without overlapping.
  • My pinky nail was then stamped with the steering wheels from the Cheeky CH49 stamping plate using Rica Blackout.
  • For my middle and ring fingers, I started out with a base of Alter Ego Rocks the Plank.
  • While those nails were drying, I made decals on my ÜberChic ÜberMat by painting a thin layer of Alter Ego She Shines Top Coat onto the mat in two places.
  • I stamped with Cheeky CH49 stamping plate using Rica Blackout over the dried top coat spots on the mat for the skull and crossbones image and the sword image.
  • I then used Alter Egos Beach Comber, Royal Prisoner of Love, She’s Got the Booty, and Rocks the Plank to fill in the images.
  • Once the decals were dry, I was able to peel them up from the mat and apply to my middle and ring nails.
  • Everything was topped off with Alter Ego She Shines Top Coat. This was my first time using this top coat over nail art and I only had very slight dragging of the black so that’s awesome!
