Good morning, readers! I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday season! It’s been crazy, but really great around here with our family. I won’t be back to my usual posting groove for a little while longer–Mr. AIA is still on vacation and school is out for a bit longer as well. I have a couple of exciting new collections to share with you and more on the way so I wanted to take some “me time” and get this OPI Starlight Collection post up and make room on my desk for more nail mail. Starlight Collection by OPI brings a constellation of color to nails and toes for Holiday 2015. This new collection of 18 limited-edition nail lacquers and GelColors sends style into the stratosphere with hues as glittery as the night sky, as deep as space itself, and as riveting as a romance written in the stars. Let’s take a look!
OPI Love is in My Cards
This warm, romantic red is destined for me.
I’m showing three coats below with top coat. Lovely red creme!
OPI Ro-Man-ce on the Moon
Rendezvous in the glow of this lustrous, rich red.
I’m showing two coats below with top coat.
This is such a gorgeous red and the shimmer seems to glow from within!
OPI Let Your Love Shine
Show it off in shimmery, red splendor!
I’m showing two coats below with top coat.
This is a great winter red and the shimmer adds so much luxury.
OPI Guys & Galaxies
This maroon beauty makes my world go ‘round.
I’m showing three coats below with top coat.
This vampy polish reads almost black on my skin tone but it’s just a tad less harsh than black and more wearable because of it. There were some lighter patches showing through at two coats so a third was needed.
OPI I’m in the Moon for Love
Simply because I’m wearing this plum.
I’m showing two coats below with top coat.
This is my favorite from the collection! The shimmer is subtle but a great addition to the base color.
OPI Cosmo with a Twist
Subtle sparkle adds depth to this purple.
I’m showing three coats below with top coat.
The shimmer in this shifts from blue to purple and the base is thin enough for the shimmer to shine through.
OPI Give Me Space
Night-sky blue with room to sparkle.
I’m showing two coats below with top coat.
This is a jelly base so there is a bit of visible nail line showing at two coats and you may prefer to add a third.
OPI Center of the You-niverse
Endless space black shimmer.
I’m showing two coats below with top coat.
There are little black glitters mixed in but they aren’t very noticeable in the finished mani. I love the shimmer! This would be a perfect base for a galaxy mani!
OPI No More Mr. Night Sky
An assertive, dark shimmery gray.
I’m showing four thin coats below with top coat.
This is a very sheer shimmer but you can build it up like I have. There is a touch of pink to the shimmer as well! Really pretty.
OPI Super Star Status
A spotlight-stealing silver and gold glitter.
I’m showing three coats with two coats of top coat below.
This dries very textured and I almost wore it like a Liquid Sand, but decided to add top coat for consistency in this post. I really like the combination of silver and gold–this would make a gorgeous accent nail or full mani for New Years!
OPI I Drive a SuperNova
Hitch a ride on this lustrous sterling silver.
I’m showing two coats below with top coat. This was almost a one coater!
OPI By the Light of the Moon
Silvery and sparkly…prepare to swoon.
I’m showing two coats below with top coat.
The added glitter in this foil isn’t the best idea. The glitters are almost completely covered and it just gives it a bumpy, odd finish. This is a miss for me.
OPI Is this Star Taken?
Iridescent icicles fly in this smooth gold.
I’m showing two coats below with top coat.
Much like the polish above, adding glitter to a foil results in most of the glitter covered up and leaving an odd bumpy textured look. This is also a miss for me.
OPI Comet Closer
May I take this warm, textured gold?
I’m showing two coats below with top coat.
OPI Press * for Silver
This warm, rosy silver really calls to me.
I’m showing three thin coats below with top coat.
This color is very interesting– a rosy silver with a thin and not metallic formula like I was expecting.
OPI Ce-less-tial is More
This pink super-glitter shines with heavenly light.
I’m showing two coats below with two coats of top coat.
This is another that dried very textured and could be worn more like a Liquid Sand if you skipped the top coat.
OPI Infrared-y to Glow
Strike up the glam with red confetti and glitter.
I’m showing two dabby coats over Comet Closer with top coat.
What is really going on with this? What are the shapes supposed to be? Space ships? This is another miss for me–it was difficult to apply and they don’t lay very flat on the nail.
OPI Two Wrongs Don’t Make a Meteorite
This rosy, golden confetti is so right-on!
I’m showing two dabby coats over Press * for Silver with top coat.
This is another miss for me. The same weird shaped glitter as the previous polish, plus some large diamonds and I couldn’t get all of the glitter corners covered with top coat.
What are your thoughts on this OPI Starlight Collection? Aside from the 4 odd polishes that I could live without, I am happy with the inspiration and outcome of this collection. I can’t wait to do a galaxy mani with these!

I love that red creme Love is in my Cards. I also love that crazy shaped glitter. I don’t know what the shapes are they look like leftover bits from other shapes being cut out truthfully, but something about that unique shape makes me really like it!
