Good afternoon, readers! This week’s 40 Great Nail Art Ideas prompt is Winter. Even though we don’t get snow here for Florida winters, I couldn’t help but automatically think of snowmen when given this prompt. This week, I fell in LOVE with Emily The Lacquerologist’s Adorable Snowmen Nails (she was inspired by One Polished Momma!) and knew I had to recreate them for this prompt. Being a Doctor Who fan, I saw the perfect opportunity to add a little DW love to the snowmen by recreating Tom Baker’s scarf on the snowmen!
- I started out with two coats of OPI Alpine Snow and topped it with a coat of OPI Make Light of the Situation to add some iridescent sparkle to the snowmen.
- Then, I used a striper brush and painted the main scarf shapes with OPI You’re So Vain-illa.
- Using the striper brush, I did varying thickness stripes in the following colors, resembling the same pattern of the DW scarf: OPI Coca-Cola Red, OPI Going My Way or Norway?, OPI I Just Can’t Cope-acabana, OPI Road House Blues, Cirque Colors El Capitan, and KBShimmer Stonewashed.
- I used a medium dotting tool and OPI Black Onyx to do the coal buttons on the snowmen.
- Once they were dry, they all were topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.
