Good morning, readers! TGIF! Are you excited for the weekend? It’s time for the 4th nail art prompt in our 13 Days of January challenge: Monochromatic. Of course I had to pick my favorite color family: orchid purples! I followed another tutorial from Idiot’s Guides: Nail Art for this look!

Did you catch my previous review of the awesome nail art tutorial book written by The Lacquerologist? Make sure to take a look at the post here of Idiot’s Guides: Nail Art (which is officially for sale now!). I am having so much fun following Emily’s tutorials in the book and today’s post was no exception. I followed the Herringbone tutorial (which can be found in the Simple Designs section on pages 78-79) because I had never tried this design before. The instructions were easy to follow and I am really happy with how it turned out.
My base color was China Glaze That’s Shore Bright and my other base was Pahlish Sarey’s Berry. The stripes were done with a striper brush and OPI Skating On Thin Ice-land. I used KBShimmer Clearly On Top to seal in the design.
What do you think? I loved wearing this as a full mani, and was sad when it chipped. I can definitely see myself trying this design again in the future! Thanks so much for reading, have a great weekend!
