Good morning, readers! It’s the fourth day of Geometric Week with The Digit-al Dozen and I’m really excited about today’s design. I’ve been hearing and seeing tons of posts over the last month or so online about the artist named Elspeth McLean and I’ve fallen in love with her work of dots on stones. Here is her Facebook Page so you can see what I mean if you are unfamiliar. Her use of dots and colors is so cheerful and inspiring. I’ve done my best try translating a similar design onto my 2 accent nails today. They aren’t nearly as perfect or intricate as Elspeth’s work but I still like how they turned out.

I started out with a few coats of OPI Cement the Deal and then added dots using different sized dotting tools in the following colors:

  • OPIs: Alpine Snow, Suzi Shops and Island Hops, The Berry Thought of You, What’s Your Point-settia?, Race Red, Where Did Suzi’s Man-go?, Fiercely Fiona, Life Gave Me Lemons, and No Room For the Blues.
  • Zoyas: Serenity, Talia, Cecilia, and Jace.
I decided to skip the top coat to give a dotted texture that is closer to the rock paintings by Elspeth McLean.

What do you think? I struggled the most with the white dots on top of the colored ones and covered most of the color on some. I didn’t have anything smaller for smaller dots so I had to barely touch the nail to get a small dot. Looks like I still need some practice, which I intend to do. Thank you so much for reading, come back tomorrow for the final Geometric Week mani!
What did the other ladies do for day 4? Check it out below.
