Good afternoon, readers!
KBShimmer released their new
Winter Collection on the 1st and I showed you some of them a couple of weeks ago. Adding to the new collection of polishes are new scents to the Cuticle Oil Pen line. This was my first time trying cuticle oil by
KBShimmer and I will share my thoughts below on the two new holiday scents I received: Raspberry Vanilla and Peppermint.
Here is a bit of info for you from the KBShimmer site about the cuticle oil:
We started with a base of avocado oil, and added shea butter, apricot oil, wheat germ oil, evening primrose oil, argan oil, jojoba and olive oil. Vitamin E finishes off the base of the cuticle oil.
KBShimmer Raspberry Vanilla Cuticle Oil Pen: To that base, we added our Raspberry Vanilla scent. Full of the sweetness of ripe berries and the creamy flavor of vanilla, this popular scent is a year round favorite.
I really love the scent of this Raspberry Vanilla Cuticle Oil. I wasn’t sure what to expect and its just so yummy! I couldn’t stop smelling my nails after application!
KBShimmer Peppermint Cuticle Oil Pen: To that base, we added our Peppermint scent. Just like a candy cane, this peppermint has notes of sugary sweetness and the crisp chill that only peppermint essential oil can provide.
I also like wearing this Peppermint cuticle oil scent. It really smells like holiday candy canes and it’s unisex enough that I am able to convince Mr. Adventures In Acetone to let me put it on his cuticles after I cut his nails.
The cuticle oil pens each contain 2ml of oil in these awesome applicators. The soft, hollow brush tip easily fills with oil and its so simple to apply to your cuticles quickly. I just twist the bottom a few clicks before applying. These are perfect for your purse as they have a tightly sealed cover and they can’t spill in the car during a quick application like some other containers of oil I have.
Below, you can see my easily painting the oil around my nails. It hardly needs any rubbing into the skin and feels really great once applied.
What do you think of these cuticle oil pens? I am definitely liking them a lot and I find myself grabbing for them often because they are so easy to use.
There are 6 scent options for the Cuticle Oil Pens: Lemongrass, Raspberry Vanilla, Peppermint, Chai Tea, Pink Sugar, and Unscented.
They retail for $6 each.

I am currently using the Bliss Kiss nail oil pen, but I find they are a bit too expensive. I might try the KB Shimmer ones instead.
They are priced nearly the same though. Bliss Kiss is even one cent cheaper ;). Ingredients are different however.
I've been curious about these cuticle oil pens for a while now, so I just might have to try them sometime soon! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this product!
I bought the Pink Sugar scent and I love it! The smell is a little too sweet for me (personal preference) but I love how quickly the product absorbs into my cuticles!
When I shop for cuticle oils, the last thing I consider is the smell. Lovely scents are definitely a bonus, but how do they perform? Do you find you have to reapply often? Do you suffer from very dry cuticles? If so, has this helped? I find that some cuticle oils have a reverse effect on my cuticles in that they dry them out over time as opposed to keep them nice and hydrated.
Yes, Jessika, they do work. If you check out my blog on Blogger, called My Nail Art Journey, you will know how I can say that so positively, because the story is too long to tell you in this reply to your questions. I will just say that I experienced terrible damage to my nails from chemotherapy for breast cancer earlier this year because I didn't know about things like cuticle oil and other ways to look after my nails, but now, since using cuticle oil, I can see the healthy nails starting to grow through at the base of my nails. I use cuticle oil as often as possible, especially after washing my hands and/or showering. Try to get one that contains Jojoba Oil, or just use Jojoba Oil on its own, because if you do a Google for Jojoba you will be amazed by what it can do. I know I was, and now I'm a convert. You can even make your own cuticle oils if you want to (there are several recipes online for making your own), but please, do use one. You won't regret it.
Raspberry Vanilla sounds delicious. I've never tried a cuticle oil in a pen-applicator before so I'm definitely interested in these!
