Good morning, readers! Guess what? I have tons of new polishes to share with you for my swatching weekends. It was so strange to not have anything in my review pile for the past 2 weekends. I have some holiday collections rolling in this week so stay tuned for those.
For today, I have three crelly polishes to share with you from Jolie Polish. Crelly polishes are a hybrid formula of jellies and cremes. Basically, you need a few layers to hide the visible nail line, but they have a cloudiness that jellies don’t have. They can be especially great if you use them for layering (which I will show you below). Let’s take a look:
Jolie Polish Purple Crelly
I’m showing 4 coats below with no top coat.
As I said before, crellies need many coats if you want to wear them alone, or you can let the natural nail show through with a coat or two. The formula was easy to work with. The only slight issue I had were a few specks of something in the polish throughout the mani. I don’t think they are even noticeable in the photos below, though.
Jolie Polish Stop Coral-ing Me Around
I’m showing 3 coats with no top coat below.
As with the purple, there were a few specks coming off on the nail during application. I’m guessing these are part of the pigment. One thing to mention, is that even with base coat I had slight staining on my nails. (I was able to get it off with a baking soda scrub but wanted to note it for you.)
Jolie Polish Grey Crelly
I’m showing 4 coats below with no top coat.
This was more sheer than the other two, as you can still see plenty of VNL at 4 coats. It would probably be great for a pond mani and I’ll try it in the future. As with the other two, there were a few specks on the nail when I was done. You can see one in the photos below on my ring finger.
As I said in my intro, my favorite use for crelly polishes is to layer with glitter! Below, I’ve done two coats of each crelly, one coat of glitter on top, and then one final coat of crelly. It sandwiches the glitter in between crelly layers and creates a neat effect! If you are wearing them this way, little specks wouldn’t even be noticeable. I definitely love them like this!
(The glitter used was Cirque Colors XX.)
So what do you think of these polishes? Are you a fan of crelly formulas? Do you have any Jolie Polishes yet? You can purchase Purple Crelly and Stop Coral-ing Me Around for $6 at the shop below, while the Grey Crelly is only $4.50.
While you are there, keep an eye on her stock of clean up brushes. I purchased the 3-in-1 Blue Brush and it’s working really well for clean up! You can see it below in my instagram picture.
