Good morning, readers! It’s the final day of Black and White Week with The Digit-al Dozen! I’ve decided to revisit the “pond mani” with a black and white color scheme. I also attempted some simple butterfly shapes using 2 dotting tools and a striper brush.
I decided to try out using a white jelly polish and black for the shapes. Essie Marshmallow is a wonderful white jelly that I need to use more often! Unfortunately, I just don’t think I’m a fan of using cloudy jelly polishes for pond manis. My favorite part of pond nail art is seeing through to each layer and these seem too dulled down for my taste.

White jellies drive me nuts, you are a saintlier human than I! 🙂 From a distance, these sort of look like fluffy rainclouds, which (while not butterflies) is still cool!

This is a cool idea, I'll have to try it out sometime. Also I love how you did the pond technique with just black and white, you get lots of different shades of grey. 🙂
You're right, jelly polishes that are too cloudy might ruin the whole pond effect. Maybe it's also because you used a dark polish in between the layers? I definitely prefer the orange and the green pond manis 🙂
