Hello, readers! I am so excited to announce that OPI has accepted me into their OPI Blogger Network!! This may be the very most exciting thing to happen to me since I’ve started Adventures In Acetone. That means I’ll be bringing you news, press samples, and reviews for the upcoming OPI and Nicole by OPI Collections.
Today’s post is on the entire limited edition 18 polish OPI Mariah Carey Holiday 2013 Collection! It has 6 Liquid Sand textured shades and 12 glitters, cremes, and shimmers. They are all gorgeous!
Let’s start with the Liquid Sand shades!
Kiss Me At Midnight: a gorgeous icy cornflower blue texture with silver hexes. Two coats without top coat shown below.
Emotions: a black texture polish with black hexes. This was more sheer than the other Liquid Sand shades so I’m showing three thin coats without top coat below.
Baby Please Come Home: a metallic lilac texture with lilac hexes. Two coats without top coat shown below.
It’s Frosty Outside:
A metallic silver texture with silver hexes. Two coats without top coat shown below.
Make Him Mine: a metallic rose gold texture with rose hexes. Two coats without top coat shown below.
Silent Stars Go By: a blush pink texture with pink hexes. Two coats without top coat shown below.
Here, I’ve done a side by side comparison of all 4 metallic Liquid Sand shades for you:
Now for the regular polishes.
All I Want for Christmas (Is OPI):
a classic cherry red creme. It applied really well, I’m showing 2 coats with top coat below.
All Sparkly and Gold: a full coverage cool toned gold glitter. This is only 2 coats below with top coat, you could layer one coat over a base color as well.
Cute Little Vixen: a dark pink shimmer. I liked this more than I expected! Two coats with top coat shown below.
My Favorite Ornament: a full coverage champagne glitter. This is only two coats with top coat below. You could layer one coat over a base color as well. Really pretty for the season.
Warm Me Up: a charcoal pearl shimmer with brown undertones. This was another surprise winner for me, it is so unique! I’m showing 2 coats with top coat below.
In My Santa Suit: a glowing shimmering red! I love this one, it’s so fiery and perfect for the season. Two coats with top coat below.
Visions of Love: a vampy burgundy crelly polish. This is two coats with top coat below, but you may want three coats depending on how level you applied the first two.
Underneath The Mistletoe: a maroon red jelly base with tiny glitter. This had great coverage and I’m showing two coats below with top coat. I really like this one!
Sleigh Ride For Two: this is a chocolate brown with red shimmer. The shimmer is subtle unless its in the direct light but it is gorgeous when you see it! Two coats below with top coat.
Ski Slope Sweetie: a golden pearl shimmer. This is packed with shimmer and would look great over dark base colors a well. It’s a bit thicker than the others but easy to work with. I’m showing 2 coats with top coat below.
I Snow You Love Me: a clear based glitter topper with holo circle glitters. This glitter sinks a little when sitting in the bottle so I turned it upside down for a minute before I applied it. The base is a bit slippery so you get about 3-4 glitters on the brush with each dip. I am showing two coats over Warm Me Up below. I let the first layer dry before adding the second so I didn’t drag the first glitters off. The glitter seems to be punched out of a holo silver material that has circles on it, so each glitter has multiple circles on it, and I love how unique that is!
Wonderous Star: a gold flecked shimmer with black hexes. To me, the shimmer flecks look more silver or champagne, but it is really pretty! I’m showing three coats with top coat for full coverage below. This doesn’t cover as well as the other 2 full coverage glitters so you may want to wear this over a base color.
Here, I’ve done a side by side comparison of the three glitters:
There you have it! All 18 new shades inspired by Mariah Carey! Which are your favorites? I love Kiss Me At Midnight, Baby Please Come Home, All I Want For Christmas (Is OPI), In My Santa Suit, and It’s Frosty Outside the most, but they are all really gorgeous! I can’t wait to use them for some holiday nail art in the coming weeks as well!
