Liquidus Nail Gloss Swatch and Review!

In Liquidus, Nails by Jacki8 Comments

Good morning, readers! I have a new-to-me indie polish brand to share with you today! It’s called Liquidus Nail Gloss! Here is what the owner, Danielle, had to say about her brand:

 “Where nature meets nail polish.

Liquidus is where crystal meets liquid, where trends meet fashion, where nature meets nail polish. Geology runs in my family so all of our nail polishes are inspired by rocks, gems, and minerals. We hand mix and hand pour every bottle to ensure each one meets our standards. All of our nail polishes are 3-Free (free from Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde and Toluene). And all of our nail polishes ship in ecofriendly packages that can be composted and are 100% biodegradable. “
I absolutely love learning the inspiration behind nail polishes and I think the Liquidus brand has a very cool inspiration! I loved Geology in college and love how these ideas have translated into polishes.
Here are the three polishes that Danielle was kind enough to send to me:
Sunstone, Smithsonite, and Peanut Wood.
Let’s start off with Smithsonite! This is in my range of favorite colors so I was really excited to receive this one! It’s a gorgeous aqua shimmer “inspired by the pearly aqua mineral” it was named after. It is a bit on the frosty side because it is jam packed with the shimmer,  but the brushstrokes weren’t too noticeable. I personally don’t mind a bit of a frosty look and love colors like that for layering glitters over! I’m showing 3 coats below with top coat and have no issues to report at all.

Next up is Sunstone! This is “inspired by the pale translucent gemstone and combines hues of light yellows and pale pinks.” This was also a little frosty but nothing that would deter me from wearing it again. It’s so shimmery and yet subdued and less “in your face” than a typical gold polish. It is a delicate and work appropriate color and even my husband commented on how nice it was. I am showing three coats below with top coat. No issues to report.

And finally we come to the glitter of the group, Peanut Wood. “Inspired by the brown and white petrified wood,” it is a brown jelly base with two sizes of white square glitters. I loved this one once it was on much more than I expected to. The color combination is really awesome and I loved how the brown base was opaque enough to only need 2-3 coats and yet sheer enough to not cover the white glitter too much and make them muddy looking. I’m showing 3 coats below with top coat and have no issues to report. I didn’t really have to dig for the bigger glitter and they covered to almost smooth with just one coat of top coat. When I showed this to my husband, he told me it looked like s’mores!

So tell me your thoughts on these three Liquidus Nail Glosses! Which is your favorite, least favorite, etc?
Liquidus polishes can be purchased for $6 (.25 fl oz) and $9 (.5 fl oz) at the Etsy Shop below.
